We are delighted to announce that the Chichester Open Studios Art Trail has secured funding through Chichester City Council and local business sponsors for a number of bursaries, that would cover the cost of successful applicants’ registration fees. This will not only democratise access to the Chichester Open Studios Art Trail, but also enrich the event with diverse and promising talent.
How it works
Interested artists will be required to submit their applications, including a small portfolio of their work, a statement of intent and proof of eligibility, to a designated committee.
A selection committee comprising of Chichester Open Studios committee members and members of the local arts community will evaluate the applications and select the bursary recipients based on their artistic merit. The decision of the selection committee will be final.
The bursary funds will be disbursed directly to the selected artists by way of settling their registration of Chichester Open Studios Art Trail 2024 fees.
What happens after I apply?
We will notify all applicants by the third week of November about the committee’s decision on the allocation of the bursaries.
Please read our terms of application:
Applicants must satisfy the terms and conditions of entry to the Art Trail 2024, set forth by Chichester Open Studios.
Applicants must not have exhibited in any prior years, emphasising the support for emerging talents.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Applicants will provide their own venue or shared workspace as per other artists on the Art Trail for the duration of the COS Art Trail.
What happens if my application isn’t successful?
If you are unsuccessful in your application this time, don’t worry! You can still apply for standard entry into the Chichester Open Studios Art Trail by completing the registration form, which will be open until midnight on 10th December.
