About the artist
Wheel thrown Porcelain, Stoneware and Earthenware functional pieces.
Personal Statement
From an early age I always loved working with clay. I first started at the age of 14 at school, with a real enthusiasm and skill, which I still have a fe+W149w of my favourite pieces. I was re-inspired many years later after seeing the Great Pottery Throw Down in 2015 on television. So I took it upon myself to throw pieces on the wheel, after a number of classes run by Jim Ranson. I have gained more skills over the years and now it has turned into a life long obsession, that I will continue for the rest of my life. I love to make functional everyday pieces for the home, working in Porcelain, Stoneware and Earthenware, with hand painted underglazes and coloured slips to create bright and interesting designs. As well as dipping in a range of coloured glazes on my mugs, bowls, vases, salad dressings bottles and many more.
All my creations have to be fired twice in my kiln, bisque fired and then glaze fired to temperatures ranging from 900C to 1200C and all are dishwasher safe. I look forward to meeting you all in my studio space in the spring...
