Personal Statement
I look forward to welcoming you to my Juno Studio. In the late 60's I trained at Folkestone School of Art, Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, and later at Goldsmiths' College. After working at Kelpra Studio and exhibiting and teaching in London I moved to Winchester in 1984 and founded Juno Studio. Appointed Visiting Lecturer in Art History at University of Southampton and Visiting Artist at Southampton City Art Gallery. I have exhibited since 1981 in London, in England, Paris, Antwerp, Cork, Dublin, Rotterdam and in the 2011 Florence Biennale. My subjects vary: landcapes, seascapes, semi-abstracts; but all share some common goal. A painting has no practical purpose at all...except to evoke feelings. Expectations of a painting are a deep personal matter. Perhaps it is safe to say we all prefer art to lift us out of the ordinary, to bring us something special, to take us into another world. We invest our emotions into paintings. We give value to their images, and need to be sure that the creators of theses paintings can be trusted and can withstand our investigations.
