About the artist
Silver jewellery, designed and handmade. Sculptural pieces & landscape art - reflecting the shapes and colours found in nature and landscape
Personal Statement
I am a designer, making silver jewellery, and artworks. My work reflects the simple rhythms and shapes found in nature and, is inspired by local landscapes and seascapes, which reflect my love of texture and colour. The elements of nature seen in my artwork are translated into design elements for my jewellery. My jewellery is made with sterling silver, gold and copper, using oxidisation, embossing and enamelling to add colour and depth. I also make one off sculptural pieces in timber and metal that evolve from my jewellery designs.
I work from my barn studio in West Sussex and sell through local galleries, such as the Oxmarket Contemporary and the Novium Museum. My jewellery is made with sterling silver, gold and copper inclusions, semi precious gemstones and enamel details
I completed a BA Hons in 3D design and then worked as a Textile Artist for many years and I have always worked in aspects of the design industry. I love the simplicity of Scandinavian design and try to absorb this approach into my work. I am also inspired by the Arts & Crafts movement and their interpretation of nature in design.
