Personal Statement
I was born in Dorking, Surrey, and now live in Chichester. Began creating art in my teenage years as an amateur cartoonist, later developed to portraiture and figurative art. I became an engineer designing and producing press tools and mould tools in 3 dimensional forms. Being a perfectionist and loving whatever I did, I succeeded in any discipline. In my senior years realising my destiny in life was to become an artist professionally I studied Fine Art with Sculpture at University of Chichester achieving my BA Hons Diploma. Now as a professional sculptor I use my technical skills from my engineering background. Later realised I was naturally drawn towards creating figurative artwork. Inspired by the natural beauty of human anatomy, human gestures, and movement. I explore the human body combining curves, lines, and negative voids in the form of abstraction, semi realism and sensual abstraction, some rotate on their bases, experimenting different themes, medium and styles. I focus on stone carving and wood carving. I enjoy life drawing and creating figurative wire drawings. One of my sculptures was selected and exhibited at the London Art Biennale 2021 at the well-known International Art Exhibition as a UK artist.
