Personal Statement
Dancingpots- Contemporary handmade ceramics and sculptures inspired by dance, India and textures of life. As my original training is in traditional Indian dance my creations in clay are deeply influenced by this gaze.
The making process enables me to question pre-conceived notions, discover fresh perspectives and reaffirm values. My work with dance and clay are a way to extend and include others in this on-going dialogue.
Working with clay is a happy place of play—a space to explore ideas old and new , experiment with form and function, and embrace the unexpected. I hope my creations energize, spark curiosity, and gently provoke, while sharing the tactile, sensory stories that only clay can tell!
Demonstrations will be offered at set times illuminating the Indian dance connection.
