Personal Statement

I have been influenced and inspired by many artists over the years and more recently, by Andrew Sinclair’s Sculpture School, the Florence Academy in Devon.
I have always had a very imaginative and creative side and now that I have more time in my life I am able to concentrate on my art.
I love to work in clay and experiment in abstract forms as well as precise anatomical measurements. Quirky hand built bowls inspired by nature’s ever changing seasonal colours and shapes.
I enjoy the challenge of portrait heads of people and animals, capturing the likeness and essence of the soul and personality of the individual.
Another rewarding challenge is cold casting; a magical process using pure metal powders of bronze, copper, iron and aluminium.
I also enjoy glazed and hand painted sculptures and ceramics in various forms. Nothing pleases me more than to create a bespoke piece of art; something that would evoke many years of wonderful memories and enjoyment.
