About the artist

Acrylic paintings on canvas based on local scenes, some of which are mixed media. Framed stained glass in various sizes.

Personal Statement

I have painted all my life, working with mixed media, acrylics, stained glass, textured paper and furniture paint.

My mother had a strong influence on me, being an artist herself she would regularly take me to London art galleries. One memory which has stayed with me was the enormous painting ‘Le Cabinet de Toilette’ by Bonnard. I was 5 years old and have never forgotten the colours. I am drawn to places I have visited, it may be a seascape, a beautiful garden, interior or a design.

I have worked in stained glass. I find glass a fascinating medium to work with; the vibrant colours which are so vivid with the light pouring through plus different textures discovered when fired in the kiln.
