Camilla Hyde
About the artist
Her passion for movement and texture in nature enables her to produce organic sculptural pieces for the home and garden.
Personal Statement
Camilla trained at Kensington and Chelsea College, Maine, Ireland and Italy, and enjoyed 22 successful years as a designer/maker of silver jewellery, specialising in anticlastic raising.
Having turned her hand to ceramics, she has continued her interest in creating work that marries form and function.
She is currently interested in combining throwing and hand building as well as Kurinuki.
Kurinuki means " to hollow " in Japanese and is a traditional technique of making pottery by carving away from a single block of clay rather than adding to a piece.
It is a slow and meditative process.
These techniques alongside her passion for movement and texture in nature enable her to produce organic sculptural pieces for home and garden.
