Personal Statement
Sarah Amos is a potter, a sculptor and enthusiastic teacher of all things clay related. In her studio, The Pottery Corner, situated in Fishbourne she works on her own pieces and runs regular weekly classes to inspire others. Sarah loves the mindfulness of working with clay as a medium and can be found sculpting, mono-printing and hand-building various projects in her tranquil studio - her Chill-Out Zone. She also offers studio space (untutored) and kiln firing to those who do not own their own studio or kiln. Her studio is well equipped with three throwing wheels and everything you could possibly want to start or continue your own practice with clay. Her latest passion is Dodecahedron garden sculptures, inspired by Roman artifacts seen on Digging for Britain. It's often funny where the inspiration comes from for sculpture! She also offers private tuition sessions to those who are just starting out and need assistance with a particular aspect of working with clay, be that throwing, hand-building, glazing or sculpting. Sarah also has a varied catalogue of items for sale from functional thrown vessels, mono-printed vases, Dodecahedron Garden Sculptures and many more.
