About the artist
Leather journals using new and upcycled leather; Japanese bindings; concertinas; Khadi books. All blank for drawing, painting, writing, doodling...
Personal Statement
I’ve always been fascinated by paper and what can be created with it. About ten years ago I started making journals using upcycled and new leather, and that quickly led onto all sorts of different shapes of books and unusual stitches. As well as medieval long stitch bindings I also explored modern ways of making books incorporating origami techniques.
I sell my books in a crafts co-operative in Nineveh House in Arundel and run monthly workshops for making leather journals in my Chichester studio. Passing on my skills and my love of the materials is something I really enjoy.
