Personal Statement
Using materials sourced from the earth and ancient techniques dating back to Egyptian and Byzantine eras, the use of gold leaf and egg tempera retain a tangible connection with the past, and are integral to the expression of the image. A close association with nature through the transformation of earthly materials and alchemy embodies the works with a timeless relationship between modern design and traditional craftsmanship.
A restorer and conservator of gilded and painted surfaces including site work on conservation projects in historic buildings in the UK, Jersey, Kosovo and USA. Artist since 2009 with paintings in private collections in UK, USA and China
