Small and medium acrylics paintings of contemporary still life and landscapes influenced by the South Downs.
Personal Statement
For me exploring the intuitive process of expressive artwork in relation to landscapes and contemporary still life is exciting and rewarding. Allowing myself to step back from planning an outcome and letting it happen is the biggest challenge - yet very rewarding when I can allow it to happen.
Colour blending is of particular interest to me, I like to change my palette often, building texture as I go. Professional grade acrylics are a flexible and archival medium, the vibrancy of hue and textural options allow for great diversity and choice. In contrast whenever I feel stuck in my work or in need of more 'order' and certainty I enjoy print making, particularly screens & Lino. The two are very different ways of working but for me complimentary and enabling.
