Alun Beard

I am a health professional by day, but have always loved making things. Wood is a wonderful material to work with, and seeing a piece reveal itself from the blank under my hands is an absolute pleasure. Having been inspired during the 2020 lockdown to take a woodturning course at a local college, I built my own little workshop and now have a dedicated space where I can tune out the world, make a mess and create things.

I make a variety of items, from simple functional bowls to more decorative items like boxes and even wearable pieces. I try to use only sustainable European timber and source it locally where possible.
