Personal Statement
I love the painting and drawing process.
It is part of what I need to do in my life. I choose to paint what inspires me visually, and in my imagination. The local environment, natural and created. I am firmly embedded in realism and the challenge of the illusion of reality on a flat surface. I challenge myself to embark on new themes. This can be an unnerving experience and outcomes are not always as expected. I also love to paint the familiar themes and my exhibition for the open studios will be be a mixture of familiar and unfamiliar images.
