About the artist
Watercolour, Guoache, Ink and Coloured Pencil botanical paintings
Personal Statement
I picked up a paintbrush again after not using my artistic skill for over 40 years. I went on short courses at West Dean to learn techniques which gave me confidence to start painting. Initially I wanted a botanical wall for my home but I just didn't want to stop creating. My paintings have grown in size over the past 9 years. I started just with watercolours for the delicate effects, I know also use gouache for intensity of colour or coloured pencils to define small areas. I also use inks to portray smaller subjects which I make handmade cards from.
