Personal Statement
‘Do come to tea’ is the overall theme of Sylvia’s work on show during the 2026 Chichester Open Studios. The work includes drawings, ceramics and painting on cloth. Sylvia is influenced by art from different cultures, a range of other artist’s work past and present, and classic fairy tales and nursery rhymes.
The work may appear to celebrate innocence and fun though it frequently includes a sinister aspect which may carry a warning that all is not as it seems.
