Laura Douse

Hello, I’m Laura. a screenprinter, mural and mixed media artist. My art is largely inspired by the ocean, folklore and symbolism. Seaweed is a running theme.
I have an illustrative style and enjoy playing with bold colour and composition.
I work with both paper and textiles in my screenprinting practice, and produce everything from cards, to editioned prints, to homewares. My larger pieces of work often have more of a mixed media approach, and I hope to exhibit more of these going forward.

Much of my professional work (in the outside world) is mural based, and I’ve worked with many independent brands in the local area to transform their retail spaces, both internally or externally.

Having finally secured my own studio this year, I now work solely as an artist, either producing my own work or designing and painting for clients. I look forward to welcoming everyone to my studio as part of the Art Trail this year.
