Personal Statement
For me painting retains some of the joys of childhood. I work within a set format, usually a large square, and make gestural marks that over time coalesce into a whole. This doesn't always happen, but usually something appears. It's not frustrating. All the gathering of experience and knowledge over more than 50 years, and the (many) failures just make me want to go on exploring gesture, colour, and light in the studio. There is something wonderful about painting and I want to share it.

Directions
From Stockbridge Rd/A286, take the 1st exit onto B2201. After 2.7 miles turn right onto Jury Lane and then left in front of Sidlesham Tyres. The studio is a wooden building directly at end.
