Clare Pretorius

I returned to painting when my children had grown up, having enjoyed Art at school. I am largely self taught, although I belong to a local art group where we try painting different topics in a variety of mediums . We have the occasional full day of painting with a professional artist which has been valuable to learn new techniques and try new ideas.

My work is very varied and no two pieces are the same. My go to medium is water based oil, but I have been experimenting with metal paint recently with good results. I also enjoy working with charcoal powder and charcoal pencils which is going well.
