About the artist

I take imprints from real sea creatures using acrylic paints on rice paper.

Personal Statement

Having spent 30 years in television production, Covid 19 meant I needed to find an engaging pastime. I discovered Gyotaku (the art of taking fish imprints) whilst traveling. After much trial and error I fell in love with process and combined it with another Japanese technique (shou-sugi-ban) to produce unique and complimentary frames. I now exhibit my finished pieces at a gallery in Chichester where I am surrounded by established and encouraging artists.
