About the artist
Wood turning; useful household and ornamental objects, all shapes and sizes, mainly locally sourced woods.
Personal Statement
I took up wood turning as a hobby after I retired from work about ten years ago, I am a member of the Forest of Bere Wood Turners Association & I served on the club committee for a number of years. Membership of the club gives me access to a vast knowledge base, accumulated over many years by many experienced turners, this has enabled me to improve my turning ability in a relatively short time, thus allowing me to expand the variety of objects I am able to make in different types of wood, some exotic but mostly wood sourced locally. My turning is both decorative & functional, however I prefer to turn 'one off's' as no two pieces of wood are the same. I'm always looking for something new to expand my ability, so I am willing to take commissions, your design my turning!
