About the artist
Hand Painted Silk Scarves and accessories, together with bespoke bags sewn from upcycled sails.
Personal Statement
Caroline Bonar is a contemporary textile designer, who specialises in hand painted silk.
This year, Caroline has expanded her collection and will be exhibiting her hand painted silk scarves and silk accessories, together with her bespoke bags, which are sewn from upcycled sails.
Each silk piece is individually designed, and hand painted - which makes every item a unique piece of wearable art.
She has been experimenting with natural dyes and incorporating batik, to create beautiful and timeless designs, which are vibrant and exciting.
These designs are influenced by the coast and surrounding countryside.
Her bespoke bags are made in various styles and sizes from small totes to large holdalls. Each one is carefully designed to keep the character of the sail. These bags are versatile, durable and environmentally friendly.
Caroline's previous exhibitions include the Oxmarket, West Dean, Pallant House, Stansted Garden Show, Little Art Gallery, Affordable Art Fairs and Coast Magazine.
She sells her work internationally.
