About the artist

Representional paintings featuring classic cars, racehorses and landscapes from home and abroad.

Personal Statement

Graham was taught to paint by his father in the traditional manner around the kitchen table by copying Rembrandt's and the like from art books, but it was on a school trip to the National Gallery that he discovered the light and freedom of the Impressionists that changed his direction forever. It took a lot of practice but finally twenty years later realised his dream, setting up his own studio in Normandy near Monet's garden and spent the next decade producing paintings for tourists.
He has had a successful career as a commercial artist with dozens of one man shows selling work worldwide, but is happiest setting his easel up near water or trees producing his happy sunlit paintings.
"Being an artist must be the best job in the world , just wandering around with sketchbook and brushes waiting for that 'must paint' moment. I never mind people watching over my shoulder and I always demonstrate during my exhibitions encouraging all to have a go and enthusing about art in general."
