Personal Statement
Artist statement
I am mainly a landscape artist - because of the joy of being in nature, which is where I’m at my happiest creating art. I love the calming effect of nature and being in a landscape, and I try to capture that in my paintings. I am as interested in the process of creating as I am in the final picture - exploring and experimenting with how different mediums can work together and discovering the range of effects that can be created.
I work across different mediums, from painting and printmaking, to creating tapestries and glass work. I also work in Procreate to make digital paintings.
I trained at City and Guilds in London, where I gained a BA and MA in Fine Art. I am a member of the Community Programme at Pallant House Gallery and am an ambassador for the programme. We recently won the Marsh Award from Museum Volunteering. I regularly exhibit in the Pallant House Gallery Community Programme exhibition and have recently had the opportunity to work with artists Jann Haworth and Liberty Blake, contributing to their mural of famous women that now hangs in the National Portrait Gallery.
