About the artist
Fanciful floral acrylic paintings, of landscapes and woodland
Personal Statement
I have been painting on canvas in oils and acrylics for over 20 years and I am self-taught. My techniques include dry brushing, sponging, pouring, as well as traditional brushes and palette knives in various shapes. I use acrylic paint, acrylic metallic, gloss and pearl plus some acrylic inks. Each painting is finished with matt or gloss acrylic varnish, then signed and noted on the back.?
The idea of my art is to allow people to escape the every day stress, chaos, noise, pressures and make people smile, feel happy, calm and relaxed looking at my world of floral landscapes, if only for a moment. All the flowers are made up, fanciful, in my world. I start with a base inspired by the skies, earth and sometimes the ocean or city. I paint when sitting in my garden, my studio or even at the dining table! I also teach acrylic painting for beginners.
