Personal Statement
Alison enjoys the alchemy of natural dyes and ecoprinting. She is inspired by nature and natural colours, observed on walks and travels.
She has designed and created textiles since childhood. Experience in a Wildlife Trust Garden for a year, taught her about growing dye plants. Her sense of colour has developed from nature, cultural influences and extensive travel.
Practising from her home studio in the South Downs, she uses only natural fabrics, upcycled & sourced from charity shops, friends etc.
She works with plants/dyes from her garden/sourced locally. She works sustainably, minimising waste and water use, and reusing textiles.
She has hosted open studios regularly and was part of 2 group exhibitions in 2024.
