Personal Statement
‘Painting with a needle sculpting with a thread’
1987 graduated with Fine Art Degree BA Hons (Sculpture) working in papier-mâché and wax.
1998 I learnt to knit experimenting with wool, cotton, silk threads, wire and raffia to create small free form sculptures.
2005 was the starting point of hand constructed textile pieces ‘wearable art’.
I particularly love the works of Louise Bourgeois and Hilma of Klint, textile designer Bernat Klein and Japanese Animation Studio Ghibli.
