Personal Statement
My present artistic preoccupations include sometimes superimposing brief (digitally) handwritten script upon my paintings.
I choose phrases that I hope will prompt recognition or reflexion, being either personally or intrinsically poignant, or funny, or stark, or subversive, or some combination.
Normally, my medium is oil paint, and often applied directly by the hand, without brush or knife.
But I may simply draw, using mostly just black ink or charcoal.
