Neil Lawson Baker – Sculptor
8th November 1938 – 1st October, 2022
In memory of Neil Lawson Baker, some of his smaller sculptures will be on show at The Chichester Art Trail. Neil was a sculptor, artist and photographer. Some of his bronze sculptures can be found in public places both in the UK and abroad. He is probably best known locally for bringing the art world to the streets of Chichester. In 2013, he brought 27 artists from across Britain and the globe to create the Chichester Street Art Festival. Many of the works remain and have stood the test of time. Under his auspices, as Chair of the Chichester Open Art Competition, he saw it evolve into the National Open Art Competition, provided life-changing opportunities to young and emerging artists, as well as connecting Chichester with centres of culture across the country.
