Personal Statement
My artistic process stems mainly from an interest in colour in particular exploring colour using a therapeutic technique called "Wet on wet painting" which I learned whilst studying at Tobias School of Art and Therapy in East Grinstead.
Using this technique on special paper, wetted with a sponge, allows the colours to spread and merge with each other creating new hues and soft dynamic shapes.
I also work in oils for interiors and still life.
On leaving school I studied Archive Preservation and Repair at Camberwell School of Art and Crafts, then continued my training in Hand bookbinding and book restoration.
As and adult I did a Degree in Design Arts and Art History at Exeter College of Art.
In 2015 I qualified as a Transpersonal Art Counsellor from Tobias School of Art and Therapy.
